Location:

Albireo (βCyg) is the star at the head of Cygnus, the Swan.



What You Should See:

10×50 binoculars show both members of this superb double star, which are separated by 34 arcsec. The 3rd magnitude primary is a deep orange (spectral type K) and the fainter (5th magnitude) secondary is a bright sapphire-blue (spectral type B). The star is a true binary, with an orbital period of 7270 years.
