The Engagement Ring is an asterism that includes Polaris (α Umi).



What You Should See:

This is a pretty circlet of mostly 9th magnitude stars that includes the 2nd magnitude Polaris as the “diamond” in the ring. It is approximately ¾° in diameter and its centre is very slightly E of S of Polaris, making it useful in locating the North Celestial Pole, which is ¾° N of Polaris.
