Location:

The Leaping Minnow asterism is an informal grouping of stars that includes 14, 16, 17 and 19 Aurigae.



What You Should See:

If you include the water “splash”, there are 30 or more stars of 9th magnitude and above,with the minnow itself being defined by half a dozen 5th and 6th magnitude stars. Presumably, the asterism gets its name from the similarity of the pattern of its bright stars to those of Delphinus.
