M53 lies in the same field as α Com (Diadem).

What You Should See:

This is a relatively large globular. Although it is not as bright as the "famous" ones (M13, ω Cen), and requires the magnification of a telescope to resolve any stars out of it, it is quite large and is easily seen as a diaphanous glow surrounding a dense core.
